Bats are very interesting flying mammals. There are at least 10 species of bats in Cuba thanks to lack of natural predators.

Going to Cuba with kids! Our 2018 trip
On the first day of the kids’ school summer holidays 2018, we flew to Cuba with our two kids, ages 6 and 8. Up until the flight we were afraid how the children will survive the 17 hours journey from Europe and the culture shock of arriving in a country with different infrastructure, language, and climate. But after we had been in Cuba for two weeks, our children were crying when we boarded the taxi from Havana Vieja to Havana Airport. They were asking, when shall we return… All in all, our family trip to Cuba was an unforgettable positive experience.
El Nicho National Park
El Nicho is Cuban national park. It is a protected area with lots of natural pools, waterfalls, rainforest caves. The water is warm enough to take an exciting swim under the waterfalls. Rancho Luna, the beach of Cienfuegos
The local beach of Cienfuegos is called Rancho Luna. When you stay in a casa particular in the city of Cienfuegos it will take around 30 minutes taxi ride to reach the beach. Visit to the sea is a perfect one day trip on a budget.
Havana Aquarium
Aquarium Havana is Cuban national Aquarium with many sea animals living in pools and glass tanks. There is a regular daily entertainment programme for the visitors. Like in the ZOO of Havana, also inside the aquarium complex, there are snack bars and a restaurant. Continue reading “Havana Aquarium”
Havana ZOO in 2018 (family trip)
It is common for a family trip to also include a visit to the destination’s ZOO. Havana has a large ZOO on its outskirts with many interesting animals. Lions, zebras, elephants, hippos, wild birds and reptiles can be found in Cuba’s largest zoological garden. Havana ZOO offers an included guided tour and many activities for children of all ages. Of course, the Cuban way. But the kids will love it!
