On the first day of the kids’ school summer holidays 2018, we flew to Cuba with our two kids, ages 6 and 8. Up until the flight we were afraid how the children will survive the 17 hours journey from Europe and the culture shock of arriving in a country with different infrastructure, language, and climate. But after we had been in Cuba for two weeks, our children were crying when we boarded the taxi from Havana Vieja to Havana Airport. They were asking, when shall we return… All in all, our family trip to Cuba was an unforgettable positive experience.
Varadero is the most touristy part of Cuba. The locals refer to it as Cuban Cancun. The coast is stretched along the 20-kilometer long peninsula. The sandy beaches are backed with restaurants, bars and hotels. It’s Cuban tropical public resort with international aura. Some also say it’s not real Cuba.
In Cuba you can choose between three main types of transport to get across the country: bus, taxi or car rental. Getting around by taxi is one of the most convenient ways of travel because its pricing is comparable to bus tickets for a group of 4, or a family. Continue reading “Taxis in Cuba”
Thanks to diverse modern history of Cuba there are cars of many trades on the streets of Havana, Trinidad, Cienfuegos, Matanzas and others.
